Hi We leave in two days for the orange state from toronto canada . I have 3 children ages 15, 12 and 10...any suggestions of ways to keep them from asking...Are we there yet? We are taking 3 days to travel there and 3 days to travel back. I would also love any suggestions others may have in order to save some money or the best way to enjoy our time on vacation without being stressed out the entire time. Thanks

Audio Books. Your local library has a wide selection of audio books that will hold everyone's attention for the long drive down and back.

Thanks Judy...good ideas I will keep my eye on the sightseeing booklets and I will prepare for the moody moments. It's good to hear others have survived and continue to do the trip.

ipods, dvd players and munchies!!...lol. Stop along the way and sightsee. I remember one trip I took with alone with my 4 kids then ages 11-17 from Florida to NY. We'd stop at odd sights, like the smallest church in america in South Newport Georgia. It's not far off of 95 and the Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation Historic Site in Brunswick Georgia also off 95. We even stopped at a few old cemetaries and just walk around looking at the dates on the headstones. Washington DC is definitely a great place to stop. We drive back and forth at least twice a year and always plan a stop in DC. Check the rest stops for the states sightseeing booklets to give them a choice. You'll also find coupon bools for hotel/motels and attraction discounts. Unfortunately as much as you try, you'll still going to have a few moody moments.
