Hi everyone, I am 43 and have a son 21, a step daughter 20, a son 11, and a son 10 going on 40. He is more level headed than the other three put together. I have been trying to go back to school but if you make good money and you are married there isn't help out there. My 21 year old is in college and I am so overextended on his college loans I can't get one for myself. I was all signed up and had to drop it. I never thought it would be so hard to get help. Any ideas?

Hello, speaking from the experienced position of a single parent gone back to college; scholarships! There are tons of small and large school scholarships to apply for, some are not even known about. Even if it just pays for your books thats something, so go to your college and talk to the financial aid office about this, ask for info on any kind of scholarships, you'll never know until you try! What about community college? Also, I just read an article in USA Today yesterday that there are more and more free online courses. I don't know what you want to study, but there might be some 'cheaper' options. Good luck!

Hi. I myself have two adult children. Planning for their college and mine was not an easy task. We are applying for a FAFSA loan for both of my sons now and I have applied for a pell grant. President Obama has offered a great interest rate program just for mom's to return to school. Depending on your current financial situation, you might even be able to get a grant.
