Hi im Allison from Leeds West Yorkshire England. I live with my partner of 10years, together we have 2childrens Thomas 9 we had together and Liam 14 is my partners from a previous relationship. Liam has recently come to live with us, so any advice about teens and stepchildren is most welcome :)

Hi Allison. I also live in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Sorry, don't have any teenagers or stepchildren so can't really give any advice, other than treat teenagers like adults as much as possible. Show them respect for their privacy and their wants, etc. and they are more likely to respect you. Obviously they have to have boundaries, but if you trust them they tend to appreciate it. But that is just what I gained from when I was a teenager and also when I used to go out with someone who had teenage kids! They liked me because I never talked to them like kids and respected their need for privacy whilst still being there if they did want to talk.
