Trying Adderall any advice?

Hello,

My child is 16 and he has been on Addrall 4 about 6 years and I c that it has help in allot. We have never been on any other kind. The doctor started him out slow and we razed as needed. I found that I needed to raze it again after a few years due to his going threw puppetry but all is going great. Now I do have him on another med for moods to help with the addrall it’s called resperdall. This med seams to help cope with stress even Theo where slowing them down they still have stress that comes along with life and everything else. As for him being a zombie, I never really seen that; now it clams him down enough for him to focuses on what he needs to. I have ask on how long this med work and stays in him. I was told about 8 hours then it wears off. I can see the difference when it does. I guess it’s doing its job because he takes it before school and it works for him to focus there. So when he’s home he really doesn’t need it, but he still has to be reminded of his impulsiveness and loudness. Lol..I know that all meds work different on every child, but I recommend Adderall for anyone before anything else. Ritalin, never ever would I use that med never heard anything good never seen anything good out of that med. I do think in some states there doing away with that med, they need to it’s not any good. I feel that if this med works 4 u will love it good luck!

Tony has been on Adderall for a few months and he had some problems with it where he was sleepy but once his body got use to it he was doing Great Now; But it took trying 6 different meds till we found the right combination

i dont like adderall at all only because it gave my daughter a reversed side effect and made her way more moodier.....i took her off of it after a few months.......some meds dont work for all kids..

my daughters first med. was that and it had the worst side effects...it worked backwards....she was more negative .......i took her off of it within a month....she has been on concerta xr...for 3yrs..and its made great progress....

Thanks guys. So far things seem to be going okay on the meds. Not really any different from what he's already tried, but no worse either...

Because he's got so many other issues with the ADHD like ODD, Tourettes, And Aspergers, he has been put on Zoloft as well as the Adderal. The Zoloft take about a month to kick in to help with his anxieties etc... So we are only on week 3 and i havn't noticed any changes yet, but thankfully no side effects either :)

I took adderall for a long time myself it worked great better than anything the only issue I had was crashes when it wore off. some people have them and others don't. I did love the way it worked. Hope this helps

hi amanda , hope it all gose well haven't had experience with the meds we are starting today for our 5 1/2 year old
