I have a 2 yr old with severe peanut allergy and our Doctor does not want to test him for other nut allergies until he is 4. He advises that we keep him away from other nuts. I am an avid baker and have cleared out the peanut things totally as well as sesame seeds, pine nuts and other nuts but continue to use pecans in some of my baking. I do not give it to him (he is also allergic to eggs so most baking is not for him anyway...) and have been careful about cross-contamination but I am curious as to whether other kids also have multiple nut allergies.

Try some of my recipes. Will be good. I had the same problem. My kids have food allergies. I have a blog with recipes for kids with food allergy, and some craft for them.

Often tree nuts and peanuts go hand in hand but not always take him to another doctor or ask him why he wont test him... my son has multiple food protien allergies and lives on about 6 main foods two protiens fish and chicken. He is 8 now and keeps me busy baking and looking for new ways to cook the same old things.. Good Luck and most importantly keep him safe.

My son is 16mths old. He has peanit and cashew nut allergy but we don't know how severe. He's never ingested any nut yet, we only found out when he was 8mnths my husband was eating cashews and picked him up and played with him. His skin flared up in the folowing 5/10mins all over his body. From there we had him have a blood test and skin prick test whch confirmed the 2 nuts. We have to avoid all nuts at this stage. Last week he reacted to fish fingers so now we waiting to get him tested for seafood. How did you know the severity of your son's allergy? has he eaten the nut?
