What is everyone's experience with Botox. Clare went for her every 6 month check up with her physical medicine and rehab doctor and she said that Clare is feeling tighter than she had last time. She told us to try doing stretches at home and have her therapist do them at school. She mentioned we might need to do Botox and that when we go back in August she will discuss with us.

My daughter was born 9 weeks premmie and she had many challenges. She needed extra care and attention as it was looking like she would be wheel chair bound at age 2. She was not able to walk un-assisted, she needed support to sit up, druelled constantly, developmentally delayed, frquent body tremors, seizure like episodes, kind of in a daze all the time, clenched left hand etc tec. She was splinted for a leg brace which she disliked & they wanted to give her botox, but after researching botox and discovering how its made and there were no long term studies I decided against it. Her life was restricted & so was mine ...and it looked this way for the rest of her life ... & mine. I felt hopeless.

We were attending all sorts of treatments and therapies which cost a lot. A friend told me about some special wellness supplements from a particular company, she started taking them in her yogurt, after one week she was up walking un-assisted, it made an immense difference to her brain function, memory, balance, mood & cognition in a short space of time. I was elated!

It’s now 14 years later and my daughter still enjoys these special products. She stopped wering the leg brace in primary school. She wrote her own resume a few weeks ago, got 2 x job interviews in one week and started her first casual job after school 2 weeks ago in a fast-paced food takeaway in our local shopping mall. She is now saving to go to Europe and buy her own home when she finishes college. She will begin her driving lessons in about 6 weeks. Her self-esteem is through the roof! I am so grateful to the person that told me about this incredible technology. She now has a life now ….. and so do I.

My son has Cerebral palsy, but i have been told by several doctors that the botox injections are not as effective as the surgery. My son has a friend that has the same condition and they both go to the same therapy place, he ended up getting the botox injections, while my son did the surgery. From my observation the surgery was more of an success, because the other kid ended up getting stiff again and he had to go back and get another shot. While my son therapist said that the lengthening of his tending from the stretching, his mucles will more flexible instead of stiffening back up.

My grandson has cerebral palsy, too. He gets botox injections about twice a year in his legs, one arm and one hand. We have had good experiences with this. For about two weeks after the injection he will have "crazy legs" when he is using his walker, but after that the therapists are able to help him accomplish a lot more and some of his progress is due to the Botox. I have nothing but good things to say about Botox for tight muscles.

My son, Maxx has been gettin botox for almost 2 yrs now. They have helped loosen up tight muscles a lot & they make it easier for his therapists to work w/him. He gets botox every 3 months.
