Does anyone know of any boots rain or winter that fit over AFO's?

I am looking for boots for a 3.5 yr old boy who can walk with his AFO's. He is starting preschool and they plan on being outside this fall and winter daily. He can't walk without the AFO's which come up just under his knees and I want him to participate in their daily outings. We live in BC and there will be alot of rain and some snow to deal with. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

My daughters pt was just telling me that another kiddos Mom tookhis boots to a shoe repair shop and they put in a zipper down the back!!

I've taken ugg type boots (JC Penney brand) and cowboy boots and had our boot & shoe repairman cut them down the back and put velcro on them so that our daughter can wear what the other kids are wearing. The first few times the boot man looked at me like I was crazy, now he just knows what I want. Good luck!

I find that winter boots that open really wide work and if they have a wide toe box. For rain boots I found some for my child a Meijers. I have to get them bigger than what she would normally wear. They were a wide rain boot. It is mostly trial and error, with lots of trying on and lots of different styles and stores.

I find that for winter boots the ones with a zipper down the side or straps where the boot can open more at the top. i never have found rain boots the fit. but it usually a long process of trying a whole bunch of shoes on and walking around for a few minutes to make sure they are comforable.

There is a web site that makes shoes and boots for children/people with afos. The web site is- keepingpace.com - right now the red winter boots are 1/2 off!!
