our youngest son was born at 35 weeks we then found out that he had a pelvic hernia, we went to the drs for his 6 week check up we found out that he had a double pelvic hernia, we had to go to the hospital for the surgeons to have a look at him, we then found that the hospital wouldn't do the op until he was 6 months old but he was screaming after every feed, i then had a 2 hour ambulance ride to another hospital for them to do the operation has anyone else been through this he is now nearly 4 years old and he is a very happy little boy

Our local hospital wouldn't operate on him at 6weeks old so we were transferred by ambulance to the childrens hospital in Wales we didn't have time to pack anything for joe or i we had to buy everything new for the time we were up there but they had accommodation for parents with a phone in the room if there was a problem they were brilliant with us they had a peadiatric consultant waiting for us when we got there and they operated on the saturday and we were home on the sunday we live in torbay in devon so my husband had to come and get us because he stayed at home with our eldest son because of him going to school. Were you allowed to go into theatre with your daughter as i had to say goodbye to him at the door as they were worried there would be a problem with the anesthetic and didn't want me getting upset with everyone buzzing around but i was upset enough just seeing him go in, i was on my own and didn't know anybody up there how did you feel about the operation? and thank you for responding kind regards claire

I had a 28 weeker that had double inginal hernias and an umbilical hernia that they fixed as soon as she was stable enough which was soon after birth. I took her to riley hos for kids in Indy and they had no hessitation with fixing anything that was wrong with her. Always ask for a second opinion with a childrens hos where they specialize with these types of problems. Good luck
