I have had episiotomy when delivering all my 4 children however, during the forth birth I had a 4th degree episiotomy which took long to heal and increased discomfort during sexual intercourse. During healing time, I would ask my husband to inspect the wound as he could see clearer. The first time he did and he refused to look the second time. I had to wait for 8 weeks to heal before asking him to inspect. He confirmed the healing but was worried about the scar. Although I have healed, I cannot bear to look at the scar which was left after the procedure. As a result I am always finding excuses to avoid sex. I am beginning to feel for my husband but at the same time the thought of sex makes me sick. Please help what can I do to improve the situation.
