It'll be 2 years in May since my baby boy died from SIDS. He was 2 1/2 months premature and spent a month and a half in the Hershey NICU. After he made it through all of that I didn't understand why GOD would take my child away from me. It took me a full year to be able to function the way I used to at work and at home with my family. I even went to a mental hospital for 16 days because I was loosing it! I still have days that I just sit around and cry because I still don't understand. It does get easier with time!! As hard as that is to believe and I personally hated to hear that from people but it's true. I go to a counselor and have a very supportive family and friends. Unless you have gone thru it you can't really explain how it feels. I feel like a piece of me is missing and I will never get that back. You have to take control of your life. Don't forget but come at peace with it. Don't ever hesitate to talk about your child, or hold in any emotions! I am so sorry for you loss and hope that all goes well.

I just keep saying to myself: "one minute at a time, one minute at a time". It sounds stupid, but time does help - it doesn't get easier, you just sort of get better at it **sad smile**.

There is actually a fantastic community on here called 'motherhood after the death of a child'. I have found a lot of comfort there. I hope this helps . . .
