when i came in with really painful branxton hicks that were lasting 1 min and coming every 30 secs i had a really rude midwife but for the actual labour they were so good, my antenatal midwife was there after the birth as well so that was pretty good.

From the very bottom of my heart I hate the JHH. I had two of my three girls there and only stayed overnight both times and then fled.

With my first birth there, my beautiful baby girl arrived only four minutes after walking (staggering???) in the door so I didn't have a chance to even talk to the midwife, with my second bub I told EVERYONE at my antenatal visits that I hated the hospital so they put me with a 'group practice' midwife from Belmont hospital, she did all my antenatal visits at home and met me at the JHH to deliver my last lovely girl.

my time in there was great. went in a wk before i had my daughter who came a month early and was in there for another wk after that. all the nurses, midwives, cleaning and kitchen staff were really nice and helpful. the only person who i didnt like was the dr delivering my baby... she was a piece of work. but the 2 midwives were wonderful.

My experience there was amazing! Stayed for almost a week and the only sour note was another patient in my room. lol

i had great midwifes during my labour and couldnt fault them, the doctors on the other hand well lets just say not so good, had a rough labour and son ended up in NICU and the nurse's in there were amazing.

Mine was ok, the nurses in the birthing suite were really nice, I was only in there an hour so can't really say much about them lol. On the ward though, some of the nurses were really nice - some of them were total bitches! I had to stay in hospital for 2 weeks because of feeding problems, post-natal depression kicked in and I was in tears all the time, every nurse gave me different advice and I was totally confused, they sent me home when I wasn't ready, I felt like I was forced out of the hospital, I got home and broke down, I just wanted to run away... ended up back in hospital with bubba that same night. Was not a good start to my life with my daughter!

It wasn't until they put me on to a lactation consultant who came and saw me every day in hospital that things started to look better, she was so nice and made me feel confident with my daughter.
