Calling all NKOTB fans! We may be moms now, but has this reunion nade us feel like a teenager again? Join us! ------- Do you have Obsessive-Compulsive New Kids Disorder? Are you sitting in front of your computer on this site for the 3rd or 4th (5th, 6th, wait you've lost track how many) time today looking for updates? Are you religiously checking the Blog/News and NKTV sections of the main site in the hopes that they've finally updated (Hello, it has been a week now!)? Are you finding yourself staying up late at night scouring youtube.com and google images for more information on NKOTB? If any of these sound like you, you may be living with OCNKD! This disorder was originally diagnosed in mid 1990 after millions of pre-teens and teens began to have difficulty in their day to day lives. Symptoms in the 1990s included (but not limited to): -failure to focus on anything other than Joe, Jon, Jordan, Danny & Donnie -increase in a Bostonian-esque accent in words like over/ovah and car/cah. -decreasing grade point averages as students spent more time doodling I ♥ Jordan, Mrs. Joseph Mullrey McIntyre, etc. -repeated utterings of phrases like "hanging tough," "o u bad," and "peace u suckers" -high-pitched screams especially while listening to the radio, watching Mtv, or reading magazines like Bop. After peaking in 1992, OCNKD began a gradual decline in numbers until it become almost obsolete in 1994. Scientists believed the cure to have been found and further research was never completed. Fast forward to 2008 - A resurgence of OCNKD has become obvious in the women of the ages 25 - 35. Symptoms today appear to be similar to those of the early 1990s strain with a few additions. -lack of focus on daily activities -increased time spent on the internet and texting on cell phones -growing debt to income ratio as these women spend 100s and sometimes 1000s of dollars traveling the United States and in some cases the world to see NKOTB -high-pitched screams, loss of hearing and carpal tunnel are medical conditions associated with this disorder -repeated utterings of phrases like "let's get this," "get your mind right," "face time," and "oh snap!" If any of these symptoms describe you, you could be living with OCNKD. Unfortunately there is no known cure of OCNKD at this time and researchers are in no hurry to discover one. Treatment includes attendance at area concerts, Face Time and increased social activities with new found friends called Blockheads! If you or someone you know is living with OCNKD please refer them to the community at nkotb.com for further assistance. Group meetings are sprouting up around the country.
