Hi Everybody. I have a 13 year old daugther and an 8 month old son. Not exactly the age difference I wanted but it is how things worked out. One good thing about the unexpected age gap between my kids has been that I have been able to really focus on each baby individually. I kind of thought my LO wold be my last but now I'm considering having another baby and given my age and fertility history, I'm thinking we should probably start trying sooner rather than later. However, I'm kind of nervous about how realistic it will be to AP two babies under two. I know some of you have closely spaced children and I would greatly apprecitae any thoughts or suggestions you might have.

My kids are 3 years apart so not actually that closely spaced but I did nurse my older son throughout my pregnancy & for the next year. He also slept in our bed with his sister for a year after she was born. I really feel like doing these things helped both me and him. I don't feel guilty & he has never resented his younger sister because he was never supplanted by her, he didn't have to give up nursing or sleeping in our baby. Most importantly, I made sure that I spent time with him even when she was first newborn. I would wear her quite often so that I could play with him while still taking care of her.

Whatever decision you make I wish you joy from it.

I'm glad you posted this. I have a almost 3 year old, a 5 month old and am expecting another Sept 09! I already feel like I have cheated my 5 month old because of my milk almost drying up (because of the pregnancy - using donor milk) and how uncomfortable I am cosleeping right now. It's breaking my heart!

It's completely possible. My kids are 4 1/2, 3, 1 and I have one on the way. Each of my kids get their own time with me, and honestly I found it pretty easy to have them so close together. I stayed in baby mode throughout, and having 2 in diapers was a lot easier than I thought it would be too.

Is there anything specifically you would like to know?
