Day Care Question

yeah she seems to be doing a little better now that she's actually beginning to walk more. They also just got a new little girl who's a few weeks younger than her so that there's another closer to her age. Now she's not the baby that crys all the time.

When Trevor, my 18 month old started going to Mahan Preschool he was only 9 months old and all of the other babies were at least 1yr old so he wasn't walking either for about  4 months in there.  That is a tough thing for your child, but it too will pass.  I think that you're going to run into that at any daycare.  Just speaking from experience because I have three.  Now the issue with my son is that he is one of the biggest one and is trying to learn his own strength so he doesn't hurt the little ones.  I don't think you're going to find a daycare in Tallahassee (because I've looked) that doesn't have 6 1yr olds to one teacher.  That is the state standard and they want to have as many kids as they can $$.  Unless you go through a private in home daycare provider.  I like that best for when they're little.  Then you may find someone with only 1-2 babies and some older kids.  The early learning coalition can give you daycare refurals.

I have my 13 month old in Gingerbread up on N. Monroe. I love the day care staff and I absolutly loved her infant teachers and they fell in love with her so much that they gave her a Christmas present even though she's in the 1 year-old room now. Most of the kids that are in the 1 year-old room will be 2 in the next few months so my daughter is pretty young compared the rest. She also isn't walking consistently yet so she's at a big disadvantage. My husband and I are going to go in and talk to the directors and express our concerns, but I just wanted to get some opinions on how other people feel about day care.

Hi, I'm Ashley. I have 3 kids two girls ages 6 and 3 and an 18 month old little boy. They have all attended Mahan Preschool, also I used to work there. I absolutely love it. The one yr olds class is the best. Ms. Dana there teacher is seriously the most amazing person I've ever seen with little people. She actually teaches them and does art and craft time with 1 yr olds. They all participate without chaos. Anyone who can do that has a true tallent. They are very affordable and there are only 6 one year olds at a time. All of the teachers there are very competant and the staff always makes sure that they don't exceed the child/teacher ratio.
