We were supposed to have my SS over for his (15th) birthday weekend a couple of weeks ago but due to bloody men and their miscommunication it never happened. DH and SS were arranging on the phone when the landlord came over so DH said he would call SS back... but didn't! DH says he had arranged to pick SS up from school so went all the way their to get him only to find SS had gone off in a strop and went home! Phonecalls have not been returned and DH is now saying he refuses to keep calling only to be spoken to rudely by his son... I think they are both being ridiculous, selfish and obviously SS is feeling hurt that his dad never called back that first time like he said he would but this is stupid, yes?? I have an older brother so I know what teenage boys are like (over-sensitive, homonal, and angry!) so DH should cut him a bit of slack... but then again SS shouldn't be rude to his dad... SS's mum and I feel stuck in the middle and don't really know what to do next.
Should I let it play out, or interfere?? HELP!
I don't want it to escalate and turn into 'something'.
