My daughters legs are covered in bruises, she said a boy in the year above her at school(she has told me exactly who), kicks her and if she doesn't cry then he kicks her harder. I've been to see her teacher but as it happens on the playground it gets overlooked. What is my next step?

I was having a problem with a boy being mean to my son. My son was in pre k with him and they ended up in K together. I got sick of this little boy hitting my son in nono areas and thinking it was funny. I talked to the teacher and not a lot was done at first. I think told her she was to do something about it or I would give my son the ok to haul off and punch him (even though I don't want my son to do this if thats what it took I would let him). She know has to keep a daily log of this boys doings for his mom to know what he has done the time ect. I think it's crazy seeing as this boys mom is a teacher at another school she should know better to keep letting this go on. I would tell you to keep at it and no matter where it is taking place they should be looking out after your child. I know they can't keep up with all the kids at all time, but if he is going as far is leaving her covered in bruises he has to be kicking her more then one time and very hard. Who's to say he wouldn't ever kick her in the head or do some damage to her. As I look at your post I just realized this was over a yr ago,but mabe this will help you for the next time (which I hope there isn't one).

I would get together with your school counselor and get some tips on role playing - she needs to find her voice to tell this boy not to do this to her. There are some great role playing techniques that could help her stand up for herself. Good luck!
