Bedtime Potty Training

My daughter has decided she does not want to wear her pull ups to bed anymore. She clamps her legs shut and tells me that she is a big girl and babies wear pull ups. The problem is she is a very heavy sleeper and does not wake when she pees, which she does nightly. I have been waking her once a night to have her use the potty which it seems to work. A few people I have talked to say I should not be waking her, but the way I look at it is either way she will get woken. If I let her sleep and she pees the bed, she will still get woken up so I can change her sheets. Any suggestions

It seems to be working because she has woken herself up a couple of times and gone on her own.

If you want you can suggest the idea that when she can wake up dry, consistently, then she can wear underwear. If she still refuses, make her make her own bed! She will wear the pull ups till she can stay dry after that!

I do the same thing to my son.....i usually wake him up right before i go to bed....about midnight, and tell him to use the potty. He doesnt seem to mind, hes half asleep anyway. then goes right back to sleep. I'd say, if she is doing good with it, then keep at it. It will get her in the habit of waking herself up.
