Hello Kareen,

Yes it is normal for your little one to crawl backwards, as a matter of fact my daughter did the same thing for a few weeks before I started enticing her with things she liked (such as my purse, my phone, the remote). Basically I would sit her upright on the floor. I would show her the object, which normally I would take away (such as my purse or the remote- these are things, I did not want her playing with) So as she sat, I showed her the item...I would then notice her try to grab @ it. When she did, I would place it on the floor near her. I first began putting it almost in her reach, she would go for it...and I would slowly move it away from her.

At first it was a bit frustrating for her, but she soon caught on and started crawling forward. Don't worry, I'm sure once your child starts to see things he/she REALLY WANTS, he/she will go for it. If you don't want him/her crawling backwards, simply place the items in place where he would have to lean and crawl forward to get them.

Remember: Patience is key for both you and your child. :)
