My sons name is Devlyn he is a good boy he's our only boy and I think that since we are not working right now and because our living situation makes it so we are rarely ever 10 feet apart from each other, that it may cause some issues for him because he seems to be getting more and more attached to me. I find it hard to even make a trip to the bathroom without him chasing after me and screaming at the door, anyway i need some advice on how to make him play by himself without needing to constantly be around mommy and being worried about what mommy is doing.

This is completely the age, most babies do the exact same thing!  Great ways to have them learn to play by themselves is pack n play time.  Leave him with just a couple toys, 2 or 3 and be out of site for at least 10 minutes.  When you do it for the first time they cry because they want mommy but give it 5 minutes at least, then the next day make it 10, then 15 and you will be so surprised at how much they love that time and how much they learn!!!
