My son is so not cuddly, it drives me nuts!! LOL. I want to hug him & kiss him & when you pick him up to do so he pushes away from everyone, he has so many other important things to do & discover he does not have time for cuddling. He will not even cuddle with me when he is sick, when he is having a hard time sleeping he will not let me rock him. When you hold him down to kiss him all over anyway he laughs but still pushes you away.

Anyone else have a baby like this?

Yep, Wes does that too. But he does let me cuddle him when he's falling asleep, or when he's feeling sick, but other than that? Nope, it's "Mommy, get away, I have THINGS going on"

I'm glad I'm not alone! I've always been a little sad that my baby is not a cuddler. He has never wanted to be rocked or held closely. He's fine with being held, but holds his body away and looks all around. I have heard (as Sarah stated) that is can change and I am just waiting for that day. He is such a sweet boy and smiles all the time but I wish he would snuggle up with me.

I know! my daughter is the same way, it drives me nuts! always busy, busy, busy. something to see or explore. when i was pregnant, i dreamed of being able to rock her to sleep and take naps or cuddle with her. Nope, she will have none if it! Hopefully as they get older they will enjoy it more.

YES! My little girl is the same way. She is too busy to stop and be cuddly. She is always on the run, there is never a low point-even when she is sleepy! But she is still the sweetest thing!

Hi Nicole,
My son Thomas was like that for so long and i know it really gets you down. I had dreams when i was pregnant of him loving his Mummy so much he'd be really clingy and that would drive me insane but it was completely the opposite. Every time i tried to cuddle him he'd push me away and it broke my heart. The amount of times i would cry to my husband, Dad or friends that my baby boy didn't seem to want me!! Anyway, i have good news hun!! It does not last forever!! Very, very recently (the last 2 weeks) Thomas has become REALLY affectionate - it's like he is making up for being so offish since he was about 3 months old!! As soon as i walk in a room he stands up holding onto my leg and won't let go (making it very difficult to walk), as soon as i sit down he comes to me and tries to climb up for a cuddle. When i go into his room in the morning he has his arms wide open for a cuddle and all this nearly brings me to tears with happiness after going so long being rejected by him. I have no idea what changed it - if i did i would definitely let you know but just be assured you are in for some serious affection when he decides to become affectionate and you will be the happiest Mummy!!
Know that he does love you - no matter how it feels at the moment, and he does need you. He's just saving it all up to surprise you one day with the best cuddle in the world!! I appreciate my cuddles with Thomas so much now because of what i went through with him before, and you will too. Good luck hun xx

lol yes, my guy is somewhat like that..i can maybe get 30 seconds of a cuddle..sometimes when he is really tired i get more cuddle time..I BF so that somewhat satisfies my cuddle needs.... ;) thats why i tell new moms, cuddle all you can now, because soon enough they dont want any part of it!!
