Baby monitor recommendations?

We've moved and had a chance to try our new monitor - I wanted to let everyone know - we got the Summer monitor and we LOVE it!!! No static and very clear picture (both day and night). I can't imagine if we didn't have it now - Thanks everyone for the recommendations!!

Definately go for the Summer one!! It's brilliant and mine has already paid for itself when a couple of weeks ago my 6 month old stopped breathing! He had a cold and coughed, then went silent. On a non-video monitor it would have just sounded like he'd coughed and gone to sleep but i looked at the screen and he was silently choking so i obviously rushed in!! Luckily i picked him up and he spluttered and all was fine but i dread to think what would have happened had i not been able to 'see' him on the screen. The only thing we have an issue with is if hubby wants to play on the Nintendo Wii. That does interrupt it but only the sound - you can still see the picture and hear if he cries etc but there's just a little additional noise from the Wii lol. It's a brilliant monitor and i will use it for years. My sister recommended it after her son had a fit in his sleep and she still uses her's for him when he's nearly 5 years old xx

We have a Summer video monitor and LOVE it. We have a huge distance between our room and the baby room. With our distance we sometimes get a little static, but if you move it about an inch it clears up. There are only 2 channels so that may be an issue there though. But another girl told me she thought it would be awesome as he gets older to see why his bedroom suddenly got silent while he is playing alone. I think her oldest is 3 or 4, so I could see using it for a good while.

When I got pregnant, a few of my friends recommended a video monitor. We have the Summer Infant Night & Day Video Monitor (I believe this is the name) and we LOVE it! I rarely have trouble with interference and we used it in our apartment. My daughter is 7 1/2 months and I still use it and plan to keep using it. I am pregnant again and plan on getting another one! Hope this helps.
