I know...depressing. Don't let it get you down though, I think alot of us go through it. If you lost it once though you can lose it again and as long as your doctor doesn't think anything else can be the cause then I think a big factor in your weight loss delema is as simple as what your eating and how much. Its awesome that your eating healthier, that's a great start but eating less is the wrong way to go about it. You need to eat more to fire up your metabolism. The way to do this is to eat 5-6 small meals every 2-3 hours. Your meals should consist of protein, complex carbs and healthy fats...I know your saying what??? Don't worry, I'll break it down...chicken is your protein, whole grain brown rice is your complex carbs and asparagus is your healthy fat. Just by changing what and how you eat you'll start shedding pounds and by adding in exercise whenever you can will help a great deal. If you'd like more info there's a great book that goes over in detail all of this it's called "The Eat Clean Diet Recharged" by Tosca Reno. Or you can feel free to ask me anything but I can guarantee you that this will work, it's how everyone should eat and be active even if they're not trying to lose any bodyfat. Good luck and stay positive!

sorry to hear about your problems. I had the same issues after i had my daughter in november 2008 but in the recent months recieved advice from a friend and have been losing some of that weight finally! All i did was started drinking green tea at least three times a day, eat lots of veggies throu out the day and any little amount of exercise helps. Going to school full time and a young child keep me busy so it is easiest for me to do 10-15 minutes of work out in the evening after she goes to bed. I made these little changes and have lost 15 pounds in the last two and a half months. Well good luck and hope things get better for you!!

I gained 75 lbs while I was pregnant. My son turns 15 months old tomorow and I am 5 lbs less now than what I was when I got pregnant and I will tell you what I did and am doing to keep the weight away. First I started running again. Which was very very hard in at first because I was so heavy. Than I started watching what I eat and have recently been doing Body for Life. I will include the link for you. It's an excelent book that guides you to eating healthy andeating frequintly to keep your metabolism burning. It also gives you an excelent excercise shedule to teach you how to get toned in the right areas. It's an excelent program. I am now training for a marathon and I hope you get the chance to look up the website and check out some of the books I am recomending. Good luck to you. If I can do it, you can too!

If your not happy with with what your current doctor is saying then go and see another one. Especially if you feel like something is wrong - it's your body and you know it best. Doctor's are only human and not every doctor knows everything. Sometimes you will have to get 3 or 4 different opinions before you find an answer that helps you.

Hi hon, sorry to hear about your weight gain and the feelings associated with it. I can honestly say I know exactly how you feel because I've put on 20kgs (not sure what that is in pounds sorry, but it's a lot!) since giving birth to my son in November 2008. I managed to stay a fairly good weight through the pregnancy and kept it off after as I was breastfeeding, but had a bout of PND and ended up in hospital and on medication and I'm so big now people think I'm having another baby! I know, embarrassing, right?? I've had all sorts of checkups and tests done and none of it is health related. The best (and only) advice I got was to change medication so I've just done that this week. Apparently what I was on can cause weight gain. Great! Are you on any meds? That can mess with it big time. Anyway, I'm going to try to exercise more and eat better and that should also help they say. Let us know how you get along hon, and good luck!

I agree with everyone. You should have your thyroid checked and other hormones as well. Just because he is a doctor doesn't mean he knows all or even best, apparently. My mom's health has suffered seriously because of a doctor failing to test her thyroid and just assuming she knew what was wrong. And if it does happen to be that, the thyroid effects your entire body. Not something you want to mess with.

Try Medifast. You can go to their website. It's really easy and works great! I've lost 4 pants sizes since November of this year. I know it sounds like an Advertisment lol, but I'm just telling you what I did.

Same problem here, I spent the summer doing a hard 1 1/2 hour hike with a 22 pound lil one on my back.. 3 times a week and eating healthy. I went to the doc and told him and he said not to worry, that you have pretty well 'just had a baby' and that your metabolism will take a while to get back to normal. Have since lost 10 lbs, but it's taking forever! Good luck!

Sounds like the thyroid is acting up on you. If you tell your Doctor you want a thyroid test done he should allow it, if not I think I would look for another Doctor. Just because you are young does not mean that your not having these kinds of problems and your Doctor should address these concerns! Take care and cherish your moments with your baby cause they grow up so fast!

Sounds like it could be an endocrine issue? Have you been checked for PCOS?

And its hard to get out because im in school like half the day and then i have to juggle taking care of caidence and doing homework but hopefully we can get out this summer and do some excersise together or somethin =)

I hadn't lost any weight either when I got pregnant again, and it was really depressing, but I would insist on the blood tests, because thyroid issues run in my family, and i'll most likely need to start taking meds after this baby is born which would help lose the weight, but I also plan on getting out once or twice a week and doing an exercise class or karate class or something similar, becasue I found I snack more and don't notice it all the time, being home. My husband pointed it out and it's a harder habit to stop, because I snack when the baby snacks, which is twice a day, so i'm eating 5 times a day now.. All in all, good luck, i'm sure there are many of us going through this!
