I was just wondering what time other parents are putting their babies to bed at night, and what time they usually wake up.

My man will not go to sleep at night if he knows the sun is still shining (which can be till 8pm here in Australia) so he goes to sleep between 8 and 9 and wakes at about 4 or 5 but can be fed back of to sleep and then will wake again properly at about 7 or 8.

We just recently put my preemie son on a schedule! He is 10 months adjusted, 14 months chrono. He goes to bed between 9 and 10 after brushing teeth and a story. It may seem late, but it gives him more time with my husband who works all day. He typically sleeps till about 8 - 9am, with a few self soothing wake ups at night. And he usually takes two 2 hour naps for me during the day. This schedule is new...before this we let him sleep on our chest whenever in the evenings while we watched movies or whatever, and while I LOVED the contact, it made him have to be held to sleep. I knew it was a bad idea to start the habit, but after 5 1/2 months in the hospital, I never wanted to let him go! I was afraid I'd end up with a big kid who couldn't sleep without Mom and Dad, so we had to get on a schedule, and into a routine to get him asleep in his crib.

My twins go to bed around 7:30 each night. They usually wake up between 7 and 7:30 each morning. We get them up by 7:30 unless they are still asleep. They are still napping twice a day.

Between 6 and 7 and wakes between 7 and 8 usually although depends on teething etc. Benefit of an early bedtime is that my husband and I get all evening to ourselves and to get on with things and eat dinner.

Carter goes to bed at around 8 or 8:30 and he sleeps until about 10 in the morning. I have been worried that he is sleeping too late in the morning, but he only naps once a day for 2 hours so I think he's doing just fine.

Hi, How could you manage Sophia to set a routine. Our daughter has really hard time to go to sleep (at around 11pm) and wakes up almost 3-4 times every night. We tried letting her only one daytime sleep to make her bed time earlier but it seems not to work...

I put both my sons to bed at 8pm, Josh is 3 1/2 years old and Aaron is 14 months.
Josh sleeps through till 7am, and Aaron wakes once in the night for a milk bottle and sleeps till 6am/7am. Aaron also takes his day nap about 3-4 hours after he wakes up in the morning and usually sleeps for 2-3 hours. Both my boys are very good about going to bed.

My son is a terrible sleeper still. Mostly my fault since I breastfeed him to bed but he screams and screams for a really long time and my husband and daughter have early morning schedules so I can't let him. Kudos to everyone who has children who figured out the sleep routine.

Kiya goes to bed between 6:30pm and never later than 7:30pm and will sleep through the night until about 7:30-8am. She doesn't get bottles anymore. She usually will nap once during the day for an hour maybe a little more on daycare days and on non-daycare days she usually naps for close to 2 plus hours.

What time does he usually take his 2nd nap? I've noticed with my son Ethan takes a later-in-the-day nap, I have a hard time getting him to go to sleep and stay asleep, he's very energetic! I was giving my kids their bath before dinner but now I let them have dinner and play then I give them a bath, kind of calms them down, esp the littler one. I try to keep Ethan from taking a nap if it's late in the afternoon.

If you want your child to wake up early..then put them to bed early and vice versa if you want them to got to bed late and wake up late. It will take sometime to get them into a routine according to how you wish them to be, but it can be done! :)

My bub is in a routine where she wakes and will stay up for 3 hours and then nap, this is twice a day, so usually it is 3 hours after she last napped. It is always around the 6-7pm mark. And most of the time she will sleep 12 hours exactly, but still wakes for one feed, sometimes two during the night.

i do the whole, bath story and bed thing so he has wind down time. put him down at 7 o clock (when night garden ends) he sleeps then until 7 or 8 with usualy one wake up in the night for his dummy back in. i was advised on this routine as its a good waking time for when they have to get up and get ready for nursery. ds is now 14 months and has been doing this for about two months. previously i was laying in there with him and never got a moment to myself!

Sophia did not sleep through the night until 2.5 months ago (every 3 hours she would be up screaming) finally we have a routine and 830-9pm she is out until 730-8am. We do have some exceptions when we are out, which means she will go down later and wake a little later.

Emma goes to bed between 7.30-8.15 p.m. most nights and wakes between 6.30-7.00 a.m. The time she falls asleep seems to be getting later with age. We used to struggle to get her to stay up past 6.30 p.m. the first 6 months! The odd night she can wake once or twice (usually if shes off colour) and usually just needs you to go in and give her back a rub or give her her dummy and she settles off fairly quickly again.

Michaela goes down at 8 pretty much every night (thats when shes sending us the sleepy signals) wakes up at 7 - takes a bottle and then usually goes down for another 2 hours till 8-9AM...the later we push her schedule the later she sleeps in. We can also usually coax her back into snuggle/sleep time with mommy after she wakes up...its so nice to sleep in with her nestled into my arms in the morning in a nice dark room!
