Breastfeeding to Bottle feeding

i had this problem, i tried back in may to stop feeding my son i tried 3 different teats 3 different formulas and even expressed my own milk for him to take just to get used to the bottle but he always refused and showed no interest in taking it and always cried as soon as he saw the bottle so after a week i gave up.

a few days later he took a shine to his sister sippy cup so i went out and bought him one and bought some juice and he loves it, now i know maybe he just wasnt a bottle person lol. he drinks perfectly from it and even drunk formula in it the other day as i had no milk for him to go to sleep on.

so i'm starting to introduce the formula just the once a day, till he's gotten used to then he will be on it fully.

I have just started to wean and the only way my dd will take formula is a sippy cup. She will drink 8 oz. of formula from the cup and if I give her a bottle she screams her head off. At least I won't have to wean from the bottle:)

im switching my daughter over to so im done to nursing in the morning and at night. best thing is to put chocalate milk sauce, or blend fruits or strawberries and add to the formula to get use to use to it. my little one has 2 bottle of formula for the past week .. its been great.. good luck.

My daughter just started takeing formula she would not take anything but the breast from 1 month until now. How we got her to take the bottle was to start with juice that way she got used to the bottle and liked what was coming out of it and then I just slowly swapped one bfding to a bottle. I decitded just this week to shift her from bf to formula (I'm planning to have major surgery so cannot be on meds and bf) and so far so good I started out beg of week just during the day and now I'm trying it a little at night but I'm not pushing it if she feels like she really wants it at night I still let her nurse at night. It's a process but doable.

hey my daughter went to a bottle alot earlyer than yours but the one thing i found was that using a bottle that was as naturally shaped like your breast as possible worked really well. i dont know if you can get your hand on tommee tippi closer to nature bottles but thats what i used and i found them quite affective... also i agree try having someone else feed as she will be able to still smell the milk on you wile you are drying up and may not take the bottle! good luck...

We are still nursing but,he will drink water from a sippy cup. He eats lots of food all day long so, we are only nursing 2-3 times a day. Try giving her a cup. If she doesn't want it you can try letting someone else giving the bottle. Good luck!
