Bub moved from Bassinet to Cot - blankets or swaddle?

I put my son in regular top (no legs) and in sleep sack. Sleep sacks are wonderful!

i use a blanket and do a semi swaddle - blankets up to his chest and wrapped tightly under his arm pits with his arms out... i usually put mittens on him to keep his hands warm...

hi,

i just put my son into his cot a tuck in his over cot sheet tight enought so that he cant get his arms out and then put a warm blanket on over the top but also tuck it in. the tighness makes them feel like they are swaddled but also gives them the freedom to move a bit more freely.  if you are worried your baby wont be warm enough just put some warmer clother on him.

my son is also 3 months and i just recently started swaddling him again because i noticed that he wasn't sleeping that well. as soon as i started swaddling again he's been sleeping way better. he occasionally kicks his way out so i might have to invest in the swaddle blankets. i will probably continue to swaddle until he stops jumping at every little noise.

I swaddle him with a regular baby blanket, but I've heard of the special swaddling thing, I just need to invest in one of those. My baby won't sleep in a crib or any relatively flat surface without being swaddled.

My son loves this swaddle too, he only sleeps for 30 mins without being swaddled, and he's also 3 mos.  probably the best investment we've made!

Since mine still could not get blankets off of his face if they got wrapped around him - I opt for the sleeper blanket. Doing some reading about SIDS safety should help you make the best decision about what works for your own kid safety based on his movement abilities!

My 3 month old still likes to be swaddled. We have the HALO Sleep Sack with Swaddle. She sleeps better and longer swaddled than just a blanket or just the sleep sack.

Around 1.5 months my son stopped liking to be swaddled. So we just put a blanket over him and tucked it in around him. We keep it up around the bottom of his rib cage. He has a tendancy to pull it up and want to chew on it so we don't keep it higher then that. He seems to do fine with just that, but every now and then he'll go through spurts when he wants to be swaddled again. Good luck!

I guess i was lucky in one respect we put our son straight in him cot when we got him home from the hospital. He was wrapped up till about 1 and a half months ago ( now nearly 4 mths) when he kept getting loose from it. Now he kicks off his blankets, So i got my mum to make me those sleeping bags for him and he loves i, he can still lift his legs up and wriggle around but still stay warm. But in saying that what workes for me may not work with your baby.
