Is it ok to give your child chocolate milk at 11 months?

yea, it's not harmful it just shouldn't be in your child's daily diet just like it shouldn't be in an adult's daily diet.

My GRANDMOTHER gave my baby cool whip when he was 6 weeks old (and he was 5 weeks premature as well) ... and he eats everything. I definitely don't encourage sugar though :)

it wont kill your child. my son was given ice cream at 7mos by his grandparents and while he is now fiendish whenever someone else has ice cream, he still loves to eat food without sugar so don't believe that he'll demand sugary foods, i think it may be true when first introducing your child to foods but after eating for a few months it's not a big deal.

Although I agree that your little one should not have chocolate milk, I haven't had the experience that "once your child has a taste of sugar, they will only eat things with sugar in them". My son has tried many different juices, and lots of fruits (sugar in there), and he still eats many many non-sugar foods.

I would say definately not, as soon as the baby is introduced to any kind of suger you will have a hard time trying to get them to eat or drink anything without it. I give my 11 month old apple juice with low acid but it is diluted half and half with water.....also you have to think about the baby's teeth, milk is already hard on the teeth then adding chocolate....

I would not suggest giving an 11 month old chocolate milk. Chocolate has caffeine in it....would you give your child caffeine? Plus, at this point, your baby is either breast feeding or formula feeding, and therefore not drinking a lot of milk. That being said, I do let my guy drink whole milk every now and then. I would say that when you're child gets to the point that you need them to drink milk, if they completely refuse, then perhaps then you could add just a drop of chocolate. Hope this helps.
