Clumpy Formula?

Hi Everyone!

I have a formula question. I had used Enfamil for a few weeks until I ran out, then I switched over to Similac since I had a coupon to use...and I noticed that when I shake the bottle up the Similac is really clumpy and doesn't seem to mix/dissolve well. I didn't notice the Enfamil doing that. I usually give him his bottle at room temperature. Have any of you noticed clumpy formula?

I use similac isomil and I've noticed occasionally clumps in the bottle. I use warm water to make her bottles and normally I don't have a problem, but if I don't shake the bottle long enough I do notice clumps.

By the way, I use a generic Enfamil Lipil. You can get it at Sam's and it has all the same ingredients in the same order, so it is essentially the same. We found that it mixes easier with warmer water too. When I use room temp or colder water I can't get the clumps out.

Yes, it was the Similac Advance Early Shield that I was using as well...I may have it and use it to thin out his baby food, but I'm switching back to Enfamil because I never had an issue with the clumps.
Thanks, everyone! :)

Hi! I use similac advance early shield, and I definately have that problem. It just needs a good minute of shaking, then its fine. I also use room temperature water. I think the formula has a hard time mixing when making a 6 oz bottle. Couple of extra shakes and it should be fine.

I use Enfamil and mix it really well with room temp water. It doesn't seem clumpy until I wash the bottle and then I notice clumps.

We use warm water to mix our Enfamil.  We also mix it quite a bit and we have not had any problems :O)

I use the Similac Isomil (soy) and I haven't noticed that. I do shake my son's bottle's quite a bit though. I did notice what you are talking about with Nestle Good Start though...it seemed to always clump up for me.
