My son is now 19 lb's and I have the peg perego car seat (which is known to be on the heavy side) my back hurts, my arms feel a bit longer and I am sick of lugging this kid around! Is anyone else getting ready for a convertible? And what are the pros and cons of switching?

I think in the next week or two I'm going to go get the Britax marathon, I weighed him yesterday and he is up to 20.3 and he doesn't sleep well in the car seat anymore and he sits in the stroller really well so hopefully it helps!

I have tried a couple, the Safety Frist 3 in 1, but my son hated it, he cried everytim ei put him in it, we now have the graco comfortsport, its about $80 at wal-mart, it faces backwards up to 30 pounds and forward up to 40 pounds, than in my parents car we have the Cosco - Scenera, it can be backward facing up to 35 pounds and forward up to 40 pounds, and its about $50 also at wal-mart, the greco one has a little bit more padding but they are about the same size and he likes both of them.......alot of people talk about the Britax Marathon seat, i have seen it at target for around $280, i think that it holds them up to 65 pounds and 49 inches.....it was just too expensive for me, but have heard lots of good things about it.....good luck you might have to try a few to find one that fits well in your car....

My son is 5 1/2 months and he is 19lb's the baby car seat is so heavy, I know i need to put him in a bigger one but im not to sure what kind, any suggestions?

I have the Peg Perego too....friggin' heavy! And my son is 18 pounds, but only 5 months. I was hoping this car seat would last a year, but I can't see it happening. I could also use suggestions for a good 3-in-1 carseat!

I am currently using the convertiable carseat....it is nice that i don't have to lug him around in the baby seat(my son is 20.6 pounds) but the baby seat was nice in that when he was sleeping i didn't have to take him out of the seat i could just leave him in it and carry the whole thing into the house/store, and it did hook into the stroller and that was also nice......but me and him both like the convertiable seat....( i do use the baby seat sometimes when i know that i am going to be going to the store, or mall and usin the stroller).........good luck.......
