Hi there! I don't know about the rest of you BUT my son is such a fussy eater it's driving me crazy! He won't eat ANY veggies, unless I disguise them! He loves fruit but seriously how much fruit can I give him? Sometimes he'll eat a grilled cheese (tonight wasn't one of those nights!), he won't eat pizza either! What kid doesn't like pizza? He doesn't really eat any meat products except for an occassional turkey hot dog.

I am at my wits end, does anyone have any suggestions? When he was 6 months old he ate just about eerything I gave him. I really hope that this is a phase.

ANy thoughts or suggestions would be bery much appreciated!

Thanks!

I have a fussy eater too!! Although he is finally getting better. He won't eat plain vegetables..(He won't eat fruit at all!) but he will eat Campbell's soups with the vegs in them. Vegetable Alphabet & Vegetable Beef. Chicken Pot pies.. and you can get the Garden Blend (or something along those lines) of Spaghetti Sauce that has a full serving of vegs. in it and use that to make spaghetti or lasagna or whatever. He seems to like anything italian, lasagna, spaghetti.

Any of the things I recommended have protein but also try corn dogs for meat.. Brody loves those because he can feed them to himself. Cheeseburgers are pretty kid friendly if you break them apart.

Also try giving him V8 fusion that has vegs & fruit if you are worried he isn't getting enough of those vitamins.

Hi Heidi,

Have you tried a shepherds pie with grated carrot and swede in. You can pretty much grate any vegetable into minced beef or lamb to make bolognese or lasagnas. Or a not so healthy option of gratted vegetable fritters. If all else fails buy some Kindervital from the health food shop which contains all the minerals and vegetables your child will need. As long as your son s eatting something don't worry his taste buds will change every few weeks so keep offering different foods.

Louise x.

Try making a smoothie and hiding his veggies. Make sure that he isn't filling up on liquids before or during mealtime and try veggies that aren't something that you would normally give to him. Squash is a good one, baked and mashed, avoid the extra sugar, you could top it with some unsweetened applesauce. Squash and apples are the best. Broccoli with a little homemade cheese sauce is a favorite around here too. As far as the meat goes, its okay, there are actually much better ways to get protein than meat. Beans are loaded with protein, my little guy will pick a black bean out of any dish, he always goes for those first. Apples and peanut butter dip(a little peanut butter and some plain yogurt) is also a great fruit/protein snack.Quinoa(pronounce keen-waa) to a grain and a prefect protein(meaning it has all the essential amino acids), we use it like rice. I would also cut out all of the junk and snack type foods. If he wants a snack, make it a veggie with some good dip(out of the cold case with no preservatives or crap in it). He won't starve, just keeping giving him the good healthy foods and if he sees you eating it he is more likely to want some too. Kids do as we do, not as we say.

my daughter won't eat pizza either! sometimes she eats it, but without the cheese. she even will eat something for months and then all of the sudden she won't eat them anymore. some days i really think she eats only a few bites of food and it scares me, but i talked to her dr and she told me to just keep trying and unless her weight is abnormal or she has no energy from getting no nutrients she is okay. i also don't give my daughter junk food even though it seems to be all that she wants. i just keep trying fruits, veggies, cheese, bread, and all of the things that are good for her and if she's hungry enough she will eat it. they aren't going to starve!!
