Getting rid of baby toys

As our children approach the age of two are you getting overwhelmed with toys? I would like to pack away some of his baby toys to make room for toddler toys but I am just not sure what to put away. I mean the really obvious baby stuff is gone but there are a few I am just not sure. Like his peek-a-boo blocks and his Fisher Price stacking toy. Any Advice? What are you all packing away?

My daughter is 3 1/2, and I packed away the baby toys about 2 years ago, I think. (I'll be getting them out again in about 4-5 months after the new one is born.) We put up the rattles and most of the teething stuff, as well as anything aimed at a child who lies on the floor instead of moving around. I've tried not to buy very many toys, and discouraged friends and family from getting us anything more, so they're not taking over too badly--we have block, duplos, dishes, crayons, and lots and lots of little animal figurines, because my daughter loves animals. Lots of toys, although aimed for a certain age, can be used at many different ages so long as you keep an eye open for choking hazards.

I'm having this same problem. Ashtons toys are taking over the house, as well as his stuffed animals. I feel bad for wanting to give away stuffed toys or any of his other toys. But on the other hand, his toys are just too much now. He almost never plays with most of his stuffed toys. Would it be ok to give away some of those e doesn't play with? We just don't have te room to store all this stuff anymore. We already have baskets of clothes we want to save for our next child.

We just did this. We packed away all of the rings, some blocks and other very obvious baby toys like rattles, etc that she just wasn't playing with. We then set up a litte table and chairs and a bookcase for her books and all is well. We decided what stayed and what went based on what she actually likes to do. She loves her stacking cups so those stayed but never really played with her woode blocks so those went.
