My daughter's doctor feels that she needs to have tubes in her ears. I have mixed feelings about it. We go to see the e,n&t specialist on Monday.

Yup my daughter had tubes put in when she was about 5 months old. I was really nervous but it really wasn't bad. She had an ear infection with puss coming out of one ear for about 2 months. Nothing would stop it. It took about 20 minutes. The worst part was when she woke up......she was screaming so loud for about 10 minutes. They told me that it was normal. When we got home she was acting like nothing happened. It's been 6 months and so far so good no problems!! Good luck and I hope this helped.

my son has had quit a few surgeries and this one was so easy, he was in and out in 20 min (it would have been even shorter but they did a hearing test on his brain stem while he was under). It will make such a difference in their hearing, in their ability to mimick sounds. It isn't bad at all.

I have 2 other daughters and they both have had tubes put in their ears. Nothing to worry about. Very simple and quick procedure.
