My daughter (born Nov. 25, 2008) is still not fully potty trained. She is mostly trained as far as peeing in the potty (has an occasional accident, but she's pretty much got the hang of it) but she is still afraid to poop in it.

I have two older daughters (7 and 5) and they were both totally potty trained by 2 1/2... wore underwear to bed by the time they were turning 3 and never had any accidents. I know every kid is different but I've never dealt with this so I'm not sure how to go about it.

Right now she wears underwear during the day and a Pull up at night. I was getting really frustrated with her and a week or two ago told her she needs to start wearing underwear all the time. She wore it for three days straight, didn't have any accidents, but didn't go #2 at all (and usually goes once a day, sorry, I know tmi lol.) I figured she was holding it in and then I felt bad knowing that can't be good for her at all and got more Pull ups for night time...

So now she uses the potty all day, and every night before bed when she puts her Pull up she poops in it, gets a new one and then goes to bed. It's so frustrating but I don't want her to hold it in for days either. ANYONE have any ideas?? I appreciate it! I have tried explaining to her that she can't go to camp with her sisters this summer, how all the kids in her class are using the potty, told her she can get a present when she poops in it, etc. but nothing seems to work!

I was having the same issues, then I made a chart and everytime she wents pee she got a sticker to put on it, and everytime she pooed she got 2 stickers. it worked for a while, but she a regressed ---- her dad doesn't potty train when she visits so she got confused... but that helped a lot.

first start by talking to her about why she isn't pooping on the potty, once you know what the fear is you may be able to get over this hurtle. My daughter is also fully trained however she is not afraid to poop on the potty her problem is she can't feel the urge to poop yet so unfortunately though she is in panties all day we still have the odd accidents just keep encouraging her.
