They do last a really long time. The only reason taht I have so many is that I keep them stashed everywhere. One in the crib, cradle, swing, change bag, glove compartment, car seat. That way I know that I have one all the time. I just make sure that I boil them once a day to get rid of any germs.

You can buy the ones from the hospital pretty much anywhere these days.....That's all my daughter uses when I actually have to use one.  They will last a LONG time....totally washable!  Avarielle has 2 and I have NO plans on buying anymore!

no its ok for them to like the same ones babies tend to be picky (im lucky my son doesn seem to care anymore at first he didnt like 1 out of the ones we had but now its one of his fav lol) but some babies will only take to one nipple from a bottle or one bottle or somethings like that so its not bad if your worried about germs or somthing then just wash it before you give it to him again but other than that no worries

no they're not the same the one he has is the one from the hospital when he was first born and he loves it. now he will take a "nuk" pacifier because i breastfeed him he likes it but when he really gets upset he wants that one. i wasnt sure if that was good because of germs

I have 6 of the same paci. Once we found one that our daughter was willing to take every time we went out and bought a bunch of them. We have been using them since Becky was about two weeks old. Are the others the exact same paci? If they aren't maybe try to find more that are identical to the one that your son loves and use those.
