How much formula does your baby drink?

i think it's different everywhere..my doc says between 24-32oz a day..but it really depends on your LO..call the pediatrician and ask them also see if they recommend what formula to put them on..i did this with my 1st when i started supplementing, they put my 1st daughter straight on Soy..no milk allergies run in the family but i was like ok..she had no problems with & was very heathy. with my 2nd i didn't even call when i was ready to supplement i just started her on Soy too..but since you never gave your 1st any formula i would call..also it make take her a little while to get acclimated to the taste of formula so take it oneday at a time.. i hope it all works out :)

Hey! My son is 10M & our pediatrician says he should take about 24-36oz per day. He takes 6oz @ a time & we feed him baby food or some of our food 3 times a day.

my son drinks a 7oz bottle every 4 to 41/2 hours and only gets 6oz the two times i give him baby food a day. and great thing is, he'll eat last at 1am then sleeps till 9 or 930 n will sometimes nap afterwards so i can sleep in a little and get ready with no problems :-)

My son is 10 months old and he drinks 2- 8 ounce bottles, one in the morning and one before bed, and then he also has 2- 6 ounce bottles during the day......i don't know if that is normal, but thats what he is happy with, your baby will let you know how much she wants and you will get the hang of it quickly....good luck

My daughter also drinks about 4 bottles a day. Her first bottle of the day is an 8 oz bottle though, because she is so hungry. I normally make her nighttime bottle an 8 oz bottle just in case she wants it to hold her over longer in the morning. All the other bottles are 6 oz bottles though. She also eats baby food at lunch and dinner. And some table food and snacks throughout the day. Hope this helps!!

Hi my daughter is 9 and half months but i struggle to get 14oz dowm her a day, she just refuses! but saw health visitor she was thats fine but give her a yogurt with her meals and cheese for a snack which we are both happy about. hope this helps.

My daughter will only drink 6 oz no matter what! She has 4 or 5 a day, but she is very active and walking already. Plus, she has at least one jar of baby food a day and loves to have some of what we are eating as well. I guess you could try filling the bottle to 8 eight oz a few times and see if she stops at the same point each time. I know that's kinda wasteful, but it would probably be the easiest and fastest way to see how much she'll take.

We have our 10 mnth old son on 4 6oz bottles a day also. We tried increasing it 3 6oz and 1 8oz at night, but he would only drink 6oz of the last bottle. The pediatrician said just to make sure he is getting some protein in his diet, or else to add a 5th 6oz bottle. Hope this info helps!

My son had 4 6oz bottles in the day... That seems to be the "norm" that the health nurse here says.. I guess it just depends on how hungry your child is. So we have the morning, lunch, supper and nightime bottle. At this age I don't think they need more than that.

My son will be 10 months on the 27th and we just started him on 6oz of formula. Ive never compared it to other children so im not sure if thats "normal" or not! His doctor said at this age it shouldnt be more than 32 oz per day!! Hope some of this information will help you!
