Im not sure how much i should give her. I only give her rice cereal, we are planning to get her on fruit and veggies as soon as possible. I feed her rice cereal once a day, about a half a cup of it....but should she be getting a lot more then that??..and of coarse she has her bottles throughout the day but she seems to be kinda hungry at night, she eats around 10pm-11pm and wakes up around 2am to eat again..then again at 6-8 am...I want her to sleep throughout the night. I wish she would eat at 9 pm and be able to last the whole night till around 7 am or something like that!!..

This was very confusing for me as well. My Dr. recently gave us a guideline--which seemed to make more sense than what I was finding on line. I'm not sure how many times a day you are feeding your baby-but basically the chart has the 6-7month old babies eating solids 3x day. In the morning 2-4T of cereal; Noon1-2Tveggies and 1-2T fruits; Evening 2T cereal, 1-2T veggies, 1-2T fruits. Like many other moms have said-a lot will depend on your baby. Mine doesn't eat that much-she eats 1T of cereal in the morning, 1T of a veggie for lunch and 1T of cereal and 1T of a veggie for dinner. I haven't started on fruit yet. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I wouldn't worry about soilds to much. I have just been offering either a fruit or veggie at lunch and oatmeal before bed. The most important thing until a year old is either breastmilk or formula. Feeding her more solids doesn't mean that she will sleep longer at night time. All babies are different and sleep through the night when they are ready not because you give them more food.

i find all of this very confusing as well. i feel as if we've entered a whole new world with solids! before it was easy, just BF or bottle but lately i'm feeling kinda stressed like i'm not really sure what to do. however, i agree with the previous post about reading your child, they will tell you want they want. my little guy just turned 6 mo. and i BF or give him a bottle during the day and then right before bed i give him cereal and a veggie he's sleeping through the night and in the 75% for weight so i guess we're doing ok? hope this helps - good luck!

My little guy eats cereal 2 times a day and it is about a half a cup, and he has a veg for lunch and fruit for supper. He does get 2-3 4z bottle at daycare and I bf him at home. Sometimes, we will give a bottle. I found that feeding my LO cereal before bed, he sleeps a lot better at night and ony wakes up about 5:30ish. He usually goes down around 9 pm. Hope this helps. :)

I've always been told let your baby be the one to tell you how much and how often. If she seems hungry at night you might want to be giving her more during the day to avoid the hungry at night. I had gotten a book and when reading it gave me a guide line on how much and how many times a day to feed my LO and I found that the amounts were to much she couldn't eat it all, so I decreased the amount but kept the number of times a day the same and found that it worked for her. So its all a guessing game, and finding what works best for you and your LO. I'm hoping this helps a little. My LO eats 3times a day and has a 3-4oz bottle in between each feeding
