So I'm really worried my two year old is sleeping alot he's been sick the past week but like he fell asleep at 6 for a nap and at 11pm still wasn't awake we had to wake him up and we put him on the floor and he just layed down and tried to go back to sleep. My husband finally got him up and walking around and we made him stay up for a while even though it's late, but I'm so worried. I need to know if I'm over reacting or if it's something to worry about! Anybody ever gone through this?

Ever heard of growth spurts ? My daughter sleeps from 5:30 to 7am sometimes, but she has always been a great sleeper!!!

We co-sleep and have never had any problems with sleep, it is natural for children to sleep. She stopped napping in the day as she just wants to explore and play, so she is exshausted at the end of the day!

You know yourself when your sick all you want to do is sleep..If you've taken him to the Gp and its nothing serious..the let him sleep! My 2 & 1/2 was sick with bronchitis and she slept alot and hardly ate for almost a week and now shes back to her regular self! Hope hes well soon =)

???????? It just sounds like the late nap became and early bedtime. The body needs sleep to recover from being ill. My guy goes down around 7 when he's not feeling well and sleeps th rough the night. Us adults are the ones that think we need to stay up late and then get up early for whatever. If a kid can sleep, that's the most natural thing the body is doing.

If your child is sick then let him sleep as this is the best cure. Only get worried if your child is missing meals and is difficult to wake. As long as he is alert when awake and eatting a good amount you have nothing to worry about. If this continues then it maybe worth taking him back to the GP to have a check up.
