My daughter knocked out her front tooth today. It was a terrible situation but now that the storm has claimed things are fine. We took her into the ER and had her checked. They said it happens a lot and mouth injuries always look worse than they are. We're still scheduling an apt with a pediatric dentist but I was just wondering if anyone has gone through this with one of their children? Did the missing tooth cause any problems? I know my daughter can get a fake tooth, not an implant but on a retainer type device, but we don't know if its that important to have. If you have stories or know someone who's been through this please share! My LO is acting perfect but I still feel terrible it even happened.

I'm goig through this now:( my daughter will be 4 in 2 months and had to have her front tooth pulled! They want to put in a fake tooth as like a spacer so her teeth won't shift?! Anyone else had this happened and didn't get the fake tooth and the teeth didnt shift?

I've never gone through this, which is amazing because my little girl inherited the klutz gene from me, but I wouldn't worry about it. Like Kristi said, it'll grow in soon enough, and as long as your little girl is doing fine, it'll be ok.

First of all, don't feel terrible that it happened ... welcome to our crazy children! This particular situation hasn't happened to us, but the ER is right - mouth injuries do look bad, and they probably happen all the time!

If she is 18 months old I don't really think it's necessary to go through all the steps of getting a "fake tooth" as she will get her adult tooth soon enough ... totally up to you guys though!!

Don't be so hard on yourself!!!
