I also have a 1yr. old daughter that naps once a day and still gets up twice a nite...i feel for ya!Its no fun to have to get up still in the middle of the nite.I'm not sure if its ok,i just assumed she was going to be one who doesn't sleep well....

my 14 month old daughter wakes up at least 2-3 times every night and i do not give her anything in the hope of training her to sleep thru th nite without waking up for water or milk..but in my case the sleep training has not worked..she stil wakes up and her pediatrician says i just hv to b patient as some day she wil start sleeping thru th nite..im stil waiting for it to happen..if sleep training is hard for u then try and give her milk as tht wil let her sleep longer and then so wil u..also giv her milk or some snack b4 ur baby goes to sleep..she wil defintly sleep longer tht way..All the Best

you say she gets up atleast twice at night for tea or water, maybe give her milk when she wakes up and that will fill her up so she only gets up once at night. start small, sleep training is emotionally hard on us, it's actually harder than getting up with them in the middle of the night. we still have to lay down with my 3 1/2 year old to get him to fall asleep and if he wakes in the middle of the night he just comes in bed with us. my 14 month old has been alot easier. she naps 1-2 times a day totalling 3-4 hours, and sleeps about 10-12 hours at night. she cut her molars a few weeks ago, so now she wakes up every night at about 2;30 wanting to come in bed with me (since i let her when she was waking with pain) she got alittle too used to it. the other night i tried to let her cry herself to sleep, and i couldn't take it. she was making herself sick. so i calmed her down and gave her milk and she was out in 10 minutes, slept for another 6 hours. she hasn't tried to come in my bed since. granted it's only been a few days, but we will see what happens.

I have tried that severally but it never worked!she screamed so loud that i flew out of bed!and she was soo red in the face!this bothers me cos i lose out on soo much sleep during the night n it leaves me weak n unenthusistic in the mornings!

I wouldn't keep giving her water/tea in the middle of the night because it's reinforcing her night waking. Have you tried sleep training? Ignore her cries and see if she'll eventually go back to sleep on her own. It's hard to do, but it will be worth it if she learns to soothe herself back to sleep.
