Thanx for the replies! Doctor said the foreskin had torn (skeur) from the inside. This is quite natural??? This is what caused the infection and he gave me antibiotics and a ointment to apply inside the skin. He said it happens sometime, but if the skin does not stretch enough in time, he will have to give my son a circumsition. :-(

My son had this is was called something like bell-an-itis its common in uncircumsised children. My first never had any problems so when this happened to my second i had no idea. I just got some ointment from the doctors..and it's never come back. It happens if sometimes is gets a bit dirty but never pull back the foreskin to clean it as that makes it easier for more germs to get in. He's never had it since...:)

hey hunny - glad that he's doing better - how old is your lil one? I didn't see.
yes, forskin can tear when they're really young and it has not begun to naturally loosen from the head of the penus, particularly when it does what both of our sons do, well mine did. which is the get a bubble when they pee. just means that the ureathra opening and the opening in the foreskin didn't line up as neatly as most do. it happens quite often that they don't line up. and in some cases it can cause tearing as the fluid builds up and streches the skin.
as for circumcision - most doctors won't do it unless absolutely nessasary anymore and often refer you off to specialists. then if your son gets to be too old, you then get to have the lovely wait until he is old enough to safely be placed under anasthsia for an elective proceedure - aka - 16. All of this is of course changed if your son has a medical indication requiring surgical intervention - such as what your doctor is sugesting MAY be required. I have a feeling however, that if your son's infection clears up and it heals well, it won't happen again. You're only really looking at surgury if your son doesn't heal up, has continious infections, or keeps retearing, then surgury is going to be the better option for him. to spare him pain and potential problems later on in life.
a cation - even once his foreskin is loose, he may still be prone to infections, including the feminine neminis yeast (as my pediatrition warned me about my son Z) so you will need to be sure to keep him clean. Here is hoping he likes cranberry juice!

He is much better. The antibiotic ointment has a thin tip which I could insert in the opening and squeez in a bit. I thought it was my fault that the opening was still so small, because we never pull on it or force it open, but only wipe it with a sponge at bath time. No soap. The thing that worries us the most is the fact that the whole foreskin makes a "bubble" when he urinates, so, all the pee does not come out. We have a older son as well, aged 6 and we never had any trouble with him in that regards...?

It's natural for the foreskin to tear on the inside? I Don't think that is accurate...You are not supposed to pull or stretch the foreskin..it cause pain and damage. Wipe the penis over like you would a finger. The foreskin naturally retracts when your son is much older. I'd say apply the antibiotic cream gently and do not pull or try to put it under the skin. Hopefully he heals quickly so hes not in pain..poor little bubba:( I'd get a second opinion if it does not seem better in a day... do not let this doc circumcise your son without a second opinion.
There is great factual info on this blog http://www.drmomma.org/2010/01/basic-car...
good luck and let us know how he goes.
