i also got a mirror so that way i can see him through my rear view mirror and he can see me. car rides are alot smoother now.

Yes, same here! I frequently "ask" my little one if her remembers that the car seat is the only thing he would sleep in most night for the first few weeks...lol. I recently just took out the head holder thing and loosened the straps and he seems much happier.

yep lily was like this i talk to her and rock the seat as i put her in distracting her as much as possible from the fact shes in there then i hung a baby mirror up on the handle most babies that age love mirrors now she just laughs at herself in the mirror, worth a try

while getting ready the carseat must be carried around or we scream... bumpy roads and cranked music are the only 2 things that seem to calm my son down in the car...

yup, mine too. we put a pull down toy on it that vibrates up and the movement seems to soothe him a little. and he also calms down once i pick it up and start to carry him around. also make sure the seat is warm. he hates getting in a cold seat so i pull it in our room at night so when he gets in it there isn't the shock of cold.

my son also hated his car seat. i would put him in it and he would cry so hard he'd spit up all over his outfit. i got a baby einstein cd and put that on for him when we get in the car and it seems to put him to sleep. just give it time, it will get better i promise. (the cd plays classical music like bach and mozart, it helps make them smarter when they're older. we'll see if that's true)

i have the exact same problem with my son!  i thought that maybe it was because of the puffy winter suits we put him in to take him out, but i have put him in there in just a onesie and he still screamed!  now when the van starts moving he is out like a light.  lol  the swaddling thing didn't work for my son.  he always hated being swaddled.

My son HATES his car seat too! He will scream the whole car ride. He loves his swaddle blanket though so I'll have to try the car seat version.

have you tried getting a swaddle blanket and keeping him swaddled in the car? There is a slit in the bottom that lets you use them in the carseat. My dd's hated their carseats and that worked great with my 2nd dd (they didn't have them with my 1st). Try that, they are $10 a BRU
