Hi! I was told that my cousin didn't get any teeth until she was 14 months old. How is he behind. I am a preschool teacher and I can tell you some kids just do thing later. Their not really behind, most developmental milestones have a really wide age frame and still considered normal, for example walking is from 9-22 months...which is a huge diffrence. If you think it's a big delay take him to your local family clinic, they should be able to help. Also try looking at "What to Expect - The First Year" I found it really helpful.

Perfectly normal! My son has no teeth too, teething like mad, but getting teeth is not a milestone. And unless your doctor worries about development, I wouldn't either. First kids develop slower, if you are comparing. And even 2nd or 3rds can develop slower.

My son has a congenital heart defect and he isn't even crawling yet. None of his doctors are concerned about him. Stuff just happens when it happens. He just got his first tooth. As long as he is happy you are doing a great job.

I agree with Darcy this all depends on who has told you he is behind. Every child is different and you can't judge him on friends or families kids. Just be excited when it happens plus who knows he could get 4 in one go!!!

Don't worry that doesn't mean he's developing slow, (if that's what you mean), my baby girl is 9 1/2 months and still not a sign of a tooth. My dr said she would get them between 7 and 12 months-ish. Every baby is different.

Don't worry sometimes you'll feel that he is behind and suddenlly he'll surprise you with something not expected :) Don't worry he'll do what ever he wants when he is ready to

My Daughter just got her first two teeth and she's 10 months, I wouldn't worry about it. The longer they stay in the gums the healthier they are. Sometimes infants aren't ready to do things, and it doesn't mean they don't know how...they just don't want to try it yet. He will when he's ready don't worry.

my first son got his first tooth at 10 months then all the others popped through at 11-12 months altogether!! poor thing! my second son is nearly 10 months and he is teething bad but no sign of any teeth yet, so glad to hear this is pretty normal! makes you worry!!

if you mean behind in physical development like, not rolling over, sitting up etc, don't stress on those things, he may be putting together a whooooooole lot of things and connections in his head that you can't see and that he can't show you yet. Give him time. :) oh, and my friends baby didn't cut her first tooth till she was 12 months.

Hi there, my daughter has no teeth yet either, and my eldest didnt get any until 2 weeks before her 1st birthday! They'll come when they are ready. The dentist told me, its better for children to get their teeth later cause they're teeth are stronger!!

Every child is so so different, and your son will develop at his own pace, not anyone elses!!

I wouldn't worry abotu the no teeth thing, my son just had his first two pop thru, my middle child ddin't have any teeth till she was 10 months old and then didn't get any more till she was 13 months.

What isn't he doing developmentally? My son is behind but that is because he spent so much time in the NICU and we have had a lot of surgeries that has put us behind.
