Hi guys,

was wondering were all the november babys were with the speach? my daughter was born 5th Nov and i just thought i would be great to have something to compare her progress with.

She seems to be quite advanced with her speach even starting to say a couple of 3 syllable words!

Some things she says are- mum, dad, dog, cow, gone, ok, ffffffish, yum and a few more. she has also just started saying panbol (trying to say panadol) and the one that stunned me was -terrible! she has picked these last 2 up as my family has been quiet sick the last week or 2.

Would love to hear some of the things your bubbas are saying...

my daughter has just started saying "daddy", started as "da,da" but has progressed to daddy. She also has picked up "ALRIGHT!" we laughed so hard but realized my mother has been teaching her that. Her word for the weekend is "hi"

My son doesn't say any words at all! He makes lots of noises and is doing a lot of screeching right now, but nothing that is even close to a word. I was a little worried about it, but so many people have told me that some kids just talk later...especially boys.

Ethan has been saying MAMA & DADA for some time now. He says MAMA all the time! He does say HI and BYE but thats about it. Or atleast that is about all that I can make out. He talks all the time but its just not really words. I am astonished at what everyones little ones are saying. My other one didn't say much at this age either.

Ha, my daughter neither talks or moves. She'll roll around a bit, and has said thinks like dadada and she says her t's and k's, but i don't think it's anything specific. I feel bad now!

My daughter seems split evenly between moving and talking. Her new groundin crawling through the coffee table--in one side, out the other and repeat 100 times LOL. She can pull up, too, but she's not so steady. Plus, she can crawl on hands and knees, but she'd rather army crawl.

As for talking, it's all dadadada until she's upset, and then it's MAW! She also says bye bye, uh oh (usually right before she throws something on the ground instead of after), oggie, ah ah ah (fake laughing), pa pa, poo poo, NO. She's parroting a lot as well. Her words pretty much came out of nowhere one day as well.

Evie was born Nov 3rd and she started talking last month -ish. Her words are Hi, Bye Bye, UH-OH!, OW!, Mama, Daddy, tickle, clap, the infamous NO, yum yum, Good girl which sounds more like duh irl, tickle and today she started chanting PUB PUB PUB! Which concerns me a bit hahaha. My parents are also convinced she said Geraldo Rivera yesterday. Don't ask, I have no idea either. ;-)

We run a horse rescue and she loves the horses and attempts their names but the best we have so far is her attempt at Sparky which sounds like Irky.

It was weird though it was like she had been practicing on her own in secret. One day all these words just came tumbling out leaving us all shocked. Anyone else have that?

My son Sawyer is pretty active. Crawls all over, cruising the furniture, and just started taking steps away from things. He just started saying mama, and has been saying things like baba and dodo for a month or so. He also said baby the other day.

my twin girls are both movers and talkers.. i think the moving comes from them going to Physical therapy for tortacolis (may have misspelled it) I am not sure since they have been going to PT since they were 3 months old and they have been rolling since then and crawling since 3 and 1/2 and walking well since they were 6 months old they have been talking since they were around 7 1/2 to 8 months old.. They both have a vocabulary of 10 plus words.. We read all the time.. I have a 6 year old and she has a lot of educational movies that we listen to and she watches.. Was going to invest in the YOUR BABY CAN READ, however thought better of it when one of my girl became ill and we were up to the Primary children's hospital and I was talking to a specialist there and he said not to "waste" my money on it and instead use it on the "Darling girls".. So I took his advice.

she says mama, dada, baba (bottle), bub bub (brother), bye bye and hi with actions. I have 3 kids and have worked in chilcare for 13 years. I have found that babies are usually talkers or movers which ever they do first the other is a little behind but not a worry some thing. And there are those who do both equally. I do enjoy seeing what others are doing

Hi Jess, i'm impressed with your daughter's vocabulary..my daughter was born on 7th Nov. She is not really saying anything, she babbles a lot. She's more active crawling and pulling herself up all the time including cruising furniture. She has 4 teeth already but i haven't heard any 'true' word coming out from her.. but as said, every baby is different. I guess mine is more interested in moving around (and being chased) instead of talking..lol..

My daughter is a nov 8th baby she say's dada but not indiscriminately ~more like babbling, & momma but only when she's upset & wants me lol. She's extremely active, has rolled over in her 2nd mo, sat up w/out assistance at 4 mos, pulled herself up in her 5th mo, crawled at 5 mos, got into sitting position from belly at 6 m, pick up a raisin at 6 mos & can pick up crumb size objects for the past 2 mos ughh, cruising furniture at 7 mos, walk w/ her push toy with no assistance at 8 mos, stands for long periods of time w/out holding onto anything for the last 2 weeks, about 8 mos, 3 wks old, & this wk started to take a step from couch to toy.

When I compare her baby book to my son's its soooo different he was very verbal but not very active much further behind than my daughter as for rolling over, sitting up ect. O & he never crawled. He started dadda @ 4 mos, & increased his vocabulary to 10 + words by 9 mos (my daughter's age now). Yet he was not as active & only with much coaching started walking at 10 1/2 mos. & now at age 7 he has been skipped ahead a grade & graduated on the honor role.

Just another factor when it comes to comparing ~ they are all true individuals that develop in different areas at different stages. But w/ lots of love & encouragement will all grow happy & healthy ;)

My son Ayden has been saying mama and dada for a good while however, he does not like to say dada as much. Recently, he has started saying "HEY" when he wants your attention. Also, he says uh-oh, ahahaa when he is 'scolding' somone, and we are trying for Oma and papi but we all know when you try for it things don't happen. he has been crawling for a few months and pulling up. Now, he is walking with the furniture and with people holding his hands. You have got to see how he crawls though. He is a speed racer that crawls like the animals on all fours. He hates his knees hitting the floor. lol

Quoting Jessica:

Hi Jess,
My Josh was born nov 13th and he has only just started saying mom/mama and on occasion will say dada. I'm impressed with the amount of words ur daughter is saying at only 9 months old. As far as I am aware most kids only have 1 or 2 words under their belt by a year old! She is very advanced! How is she with crawling, standing and walking?

hey there Jess,

she is impressive it shocks me with what comes out her mouth! ha ha. but like i said its almost a trade off because she doesnt crawl at all! like nothing... not interested what so ever. she wont pull herself up, she will take steps with you holding her hands but she dosnt have very good balance as yet she can hold onto something and stand but not for very long. as one of the ladys said there either movers or talkers and Aliayh well... she is definatly a talker!

My twins are both crawling and pulling themselves up with things. Ainsley is crawling INTO things like her bumbo chair or up into her rocker. Hydie is having a heck of a time trying to sit from crawling.

Both are babbling, both say Dad and baba ( I think means bottle) and hydie plain out told me NO about her meal being good and shook her head..lol I dont think she knew though. Ainsley yelled out " come back" when Hydie crawled away , or what it sounded like anyways

My guy does not speak when prompted much, but then when not prompted he is good with mmaammaa, dada, gramma, grampa and tries very hard to say kitty which comes out like kty. Its cute that he tries cause he really loves our cat. (Cat's name is Gizmo, but I've always reffered to him as kitty kitty for my guys sake.

I was thinking the same thing, Tasha. My son says NOTHING AT ALL ... he makes some noises, but has said absolutely nothing that sounds like a word. Hmmmm - I would be worried, but at this point, I think I am just happy that all I have to deal with is a little guy who can crawl so fast that we can get nothing done because he is constantly needing to be watched!

Hello Jessica..

Your adorable baby sounds advance with her speach. Mine were born in November 3rd.I've noticed his progress in talking since last month.. Since I'm from Malaysia, most of our conversation at home is in Malay. He can say basic words like Mama & Babah (dad), tak nak (don't want), nak tutu (the actual word is 'susu' meaning 'I want milk'.)As for English word he can firmly say NO for things he dislikes.

But it's quite impressive that your baby can say quite a number of words. I guess baby girls are advance is their speech more than baby boys just like my elder daughter when she was a baby back in 2006.
