Hi All,
I'm at my wits end with my poor baby son's nappy rash. It has been coming and going for weeks now (going for a few days and then coming back again). Well, now it's here and it does not want to go.
It is awful, like open bleeding and weeping sores. I have given him loads of time without a nappy, wipe his bottom with cotton wool and water as well as smothering him in sudo cream. Since it's been around just under a week now, i thought i'd try a new cream instead and got some Bepanthym but that doesn't seem to be making a difference either.
When i get his changing mat out he cries because he knows what is coming and it's so painful. I cry while i'm changing his nappy because he is obviously in so much pain.
Please.. has anyone got any advice??? It would be so much appreciated by my self and my little Thomas xx

i had the same problem with my eldest (shes now 4) nothing would work so i took her to the doctors and he said it was infected so he gave me some antibiotic cream and it sorted it out so it might be worth taking him to the doctors just to rule out an infection

hydrocortisone worked great for my daughter when she had a rash like that. I put it on her before bed & it was 50% better by morning

Baking soda!!! A coolish bath with baking soda in the water. Sprinkle baking soda on the rash in the diaper or just leave him naked with it on the rash. Or put whatever cream you use in the fridge. Now I've seen you've taken him to the dr. but this might help someone next time:)

My dr had told me to use a cream cold butt paste at each change and when i had extra time to poor Maalox on her bottom and let it air out for a little while, and I must say i thought it was an odd thing to do but it was the best thing i could have done....She to was red raw and open with areas of bleeding and within a day it was gone.

Thank you! I have an appointment with the doctors in half an hour (just hoping he wakes up very soon from his nap because if i have to wake him up he will punish me for the rest of the day lol) and hopefully they will be able to give something. It has been coming and going for ages but so bad this time and doesn't seem to want to go away.
Thanks again for your comments,
