Potty Training - Can't get her off the potty

My son decided he no longer wanted to wear nappies so on a friends advice I followed the 3daypottytraining.com method. Lora Jensen is a genius! Ever since we've started we've thrown out all nappies and just wear jocks. Even with him being sick from day two he still picked it up even at night. It's definitely a great method. All based around teaching them to recognize the signs for themselves through repetition and praise. It's themost loving approach I have ever seen. Please do yourself a favour and buy her ebook. You won't be disappointed. My now 22 month even does #2 when out at a friends house in a toilet. I'm so proud and amazed at the same time.

My 22 months daughter will sit on the potty for about a minute and then puts one of her bears on potty who stays on longer than she does.

we just finished potty training pretty much. i put her seat in the living room and had her NAKED. I think this helped. I refuse to buy pull ups. anyway she would sit, pee and then want her treat. so the treat was the reward for finishing and getting off the potty

They are only suppose to sit on the toilet for 15-20 minutes. My daughter sometimes fights the diaper too.

i'm having the same problem with my 22 month old, he will sit there till his little legs and bum are read, and its a soft seat!
and pullups make it worse because he will pull them off and run around the house naked...

I too am just starting with my 22 month old son, he also likes to sit on the potty and sometimes will get mad when it is time to get off. I have told him it's time to flush the potty and make a big deal then try to interest him in something else when he is done.

We are in the middle of potty training our daughter too. The first few days we actually let her go bare bottomed and put her in a little dress. Now that she's going at least 90% of the time in the toilet we let her wear panties. We only put a diaper on her when she sleeps. So far it seems to have been working. Good luck!

if shes fighting the diaper, she may be ready to at least try pull ups. I know once we started with pull ups she was loathe to actually go into a night time diaper. Good luck

I haven't started potty training my son yet, but my friends have been potty training their daughter and once she does her business they set a timer (like 30 seconds to a minute or two) then she gets off. Pull ups might help, or get her "big girl" underwear that are lined on the outside so its kind of like a diaper, but more like underwear too. I think wal-mart has them. good luck! (also, pull ups aren't as absorbant so you'd have to change them more often)
