Table Foods

So I met with an old friend last week who has a 10 month old. While watching my son eat she said he is probably ready for some table foods, like crackers and eggs, etc. We tried a scrambled egg (no milk) last weekend and he ate it great. I was just curious what other foods people have tried...I am thinking about maybe peas or something next.

My daughter just recently within the last 2 weeks started losing interest in her baby food. So I give her the Gerber puffs, yogurt melts and either peach or pear pieces cut up small and they have to be ripe. Lunch she gets a fruit, bits of cheese, potato, pasta, whatever I have in the fridge. Dinner she will get a meat (chicken or turkey) pasta or rice, peas or carrots, or green beans. Sometimes it takes a few tries for her to accept a new food even if she has had before as baby food. I think she needs to get used to the texture. I am going to try egg whites too and melon again. It is so nice when they feed themselves. Now I can eat with her or do the dishes while she munches.

My daughter Lilly loves most of the thing listed above plus jelly on wheat bread! She doesn't care too much for potatoes in any form but will eat chicken like crazy! I have found out now that she isn't much into her babyfood anymore because she wants to feed herself so I dip her spoon in the babyfood and that entertains her for a little bit.

My son started table foods when he was like 5 months old, we started with just some ritz crackers and baby puffs (they melt in their mouth and are in the baby food isle at the store). After he mastered those, we slowly started introducing more things, pretty much anything that is soft enough to mash with their gums, banana, cut up toast noodles, soft vegies, cut up melon, we even gave him mac and cheese and grilled cheese cooled and cut up into small pieces. It is a lot nicer once then can start to understand feeding themselves :)

My daughter isn't eating many table foods. We did smooshed peach, but it came back to us. She does like mashed potatoes (with nothing added), wheat bread, and rice crackers. Just make sure you take it one item at a time because you never know what reaction you may find. Oh she also likes bits of cheese.

my daughter has a hugh list... she loves

-whole wheat bread

- watermelon. well any melon

- loves banana's

- just chicken made for her nothing added.

-cooked carrots sliced.

-scrambled eggs.

she pretty much has what i have. she has choked once so now i know what to do so im not to worried... just make sure you know your technices.
