To watch or not to watch T.V.

I have never been a big advocater for babies watching t.v. It was only the other morning when i was waiting for my son's breakfast to cool down i decided to have a look at the kids channel, when teletubbies came on. My son just loved it, he was jumping up and down, chating and laughing at the teletubbies. He only watched about 10mins before he got bored but a few times a week i have started letting him watch teletubbies.

I read a study that showed that children who watch learning shows, such as Seasme Street, learn things quicker. I think it is all about monitoring what they watch and if they are going to watch tv, make it educational.

I had the same dilema.... I let my daughter watch 20 minutes max, which is what the baby einstein videos last, she LOVES the puppets in them, she crawls a little then sits and watches, plays with a toy and watches some more, I don't think is harmful to allow them a little tv.

My daughter watches Imagination Movers on Disney. She loves that they sing and play music, that is really the only time she really "watches" it. I don't see anything wrong with it, it stimulates her and gets her moving and she loves the bright colors.

my little girl watches tv she is so intellegent i personally reacon it helps

there are programs out there that are designed to be fundamentally stimulating.
A little tv won't hurt a child. TV should NEVER become a babysitter.
Keepin it clean is best....also it is a good idea to watch TV with your child and make it interactive.

my son watches tv but only educatioal ones looked i watched lots of tv babies like clores by baby estine if u dont want to rot his brain out from spongbob look my aunt never let her kids watch tv or do ne thing they are real messed up now a little tv wont hurt

My oldest was a tv junkie at birth. At 15 he still is! Our little one doesn't sit still long enough to even watch. Depends on the kid.

I don't see a problem with it at all. My son has shown no interest whatsoever in tv (except, get this DOG from Dog the Bounty Hunter). I think some of the kids shows are awesome though - they get the little one's interacting!
