weaning a baby at 2 months

I guess I just looked at it as spoon feeding is just as much a choking risk as bottle feeding is. I figure were I was right there feeding her the bottle if she started choking I was right there to help her.

first of all thanks mums and i just want to say i dont feed him out ofg the bottle for the simple reasons choking and he is now on an 9oz bottle with pureed food

I put the rice in her bottle at a young age because she wasn't getting enough to eat, I was feeding her every hour on the hour 8-9oz at 3weeks and she was still in need of more. So I started with the rice in her night time bottle to get alittle sleep at night and she has been doing great with it. And it hasn't hurt her any. She is not a chuncky baby she is at every milestone she should be at.

I guess Im trying to figure out what you mean by it is dangerous to do it?

I only put the cereal/rice in one bottle at night....the rest she is spoon feed...sorry fo the confussing comment

I started my son at about 3 1/2 months, he would eat so much that he would puke, so the doctor suggested a half scoop(the one from the formula container) in his bottle every other feeding, and he went to just eating 6 ounces about every 3 hours.....he now eats a 6 ounce bottle when he wakes up at 6am, a jar of fruit with some cereal and 6 ounces about 9am, then about 1pm he will have 6-8 ounces, then about 5pm he will have a jar of veggies and some cereal and usually about 6 ounces, and about 8pm he has and 8 ounce bottle and is down for the night.....i also use a formula from similac sensitive r.s. it has rice starch in it, its a heavier formula it fills them up longer and faster, that way he doesn't have to eat 10-12 ounces at a time anymore......i think what you did was fine, it was what you felt was right for you baby, and they always say that mom knows best......good luck
