idk how bad ur child is w/ it but my daughter gets constipated extremely bad and all the suggestions that everyone has even you so far we have tried w/ her and nothing worked. we had to take her to the doc and he wrote a script for stool softener. this was the last thing i wanted and we really tried everything from switching to soy formula and then switching to consitraded and then of course diff juices including the prune juice. we were giving her so much fruits that she wouldnt even eat veggies....thankfully she does now. hopefully ur son isnt as bad bc it has been brutal watching her be in that much pain. all the suggestions everyone gave are very good....hopefully that will work and u wont have to go to the doctor.

I cut up prunes to the size of raisins. She loves them!! Give lots of water as well. I find my daughter drinks more when she picks up her own cup either from the fridge shelf or off the coffeetable.

my daughter had the same problem and the doctor told me to give her 1/2 tsp of milk of magnesium a day till it straightened her system out then cut back and only use it when needed.

prunes work wonders. My son was very stubborn about potty training. He would hold it for a week and then get all back up so he couldn't go even if he wanted. Prune juice always helped him. If you give your baby half strength juice, try full strength juice. If that doesn't work, prune juice will. I always have it in the pantry, just in case.

Try and lay off stuff with starch in it, potatoes and so on, and increase the amount of fruits and vegetables. Prunes are a great idea, and keep offering as much water as you can!
