what is ur 10 month old eating??

My daughter was 10 months on the 23rd. We are trying to get her on solids like bread,cheerios, rice puffs. Everything is good for a few bites but all it takes is one to get far back on her tongue and then she gags and throws up. I'm glad to see someone else is going through the same thing. Reading a lot of these comments about 10 month olds eating everything made me wondering what was wrong with my daughter.

Hi! My son eats EVERYTHING, but still won't gain weight so we started him on some formula, about 20 oz a day. He loves fruits and veggies, but he's still a little wary on meats. He's tried turkey, chicken, ground pork and a little fish. He also loves anything bread/pasta/starchy! I'd just keep trying him with different things, though I hear to stay away from honey, nuts and wild-caught seafood til they're a year. Hope this helps! Happy eating!

my lil girl turned ten months and now is so independent ... no matter what we do she always wants to eat with her hands.. so me and my husband trick her buy feeding her by making her think she is eating what we are ...still not a hundred percent but it works better that just trying to shove stuff in her mouth... lol

honestly my daughter ha been eating whatever we eat for a few months. she will not eat baby food but she loves table food. go ahead and give it a try. im sure that he will start eating much much more when he likes the food that u r giving him. our food has much more tastes to it. baby food is bland. have u smelled it?

My son Indra is a fussy eater already, he was ok before his teeth came through but now I am lucky if he will eat stage 2 foods. He tends to spit out the lumpy bits. He eats cereal, toast, yoghurt and all stage 1 foods though.

Hi there! My son has been eyeing my table food since he could open his eyes wide enough but I've always been cautious about what to give him. He takes about 4 eight ounce bottles a day and sleeps through the night about 12 hours straight! For breakfast he will have either cut up bananas and cheerios or oatmeal and a Stage 2 fruit. Today I gave him some flaked fish and avocado for lunch. He didnt do very well with the fish but loved the avocado. He has 6 front teeth but still does the "choking" face when we give him table food. He REALLY REALLY wants to eat what we eat so I keep trying!

My son eats 4-5, seven ounce bottles per day (seen as how formula is still the main source of nutrition) and cereal in the morning after his first bottle and cereal at night after his last bottle. He will have random fruits during the day, and I am attempting to give him some of our foods during supper along with some puree meats!

my son eats everything and anything lol, he def. loves mashed potatoes! If you give him any meat just make sure its not too tough and that it is small enough but go ahead and start trying table foods with him...after that I bet you he only starts wanting his bottle in the morning and at night!!! :) Good luck!!

This is my first and I have been freaking out about what to give her. My family keeps trying to feed her mashed potatoes and only starchy foods. It has been insane trying to remind people that she is so little and that fruits and veggies are more important for her than cake. I let her have some bites of banana, mashed potatoes, peas, pasta, carrots, and broccoli. Slowly trying things out since her father is allergic to EVERYTHING!

Abigale was 10 months on the 25th and I am having trouble getting her to eat lumpy food she gags until she makes herself throw up. So we are still on 6 month baby food. I keep trying her all the time, I spoke to our ped about this and he told me she will eat lumpy food when she is ready I just have to keep trying. I just get frustrated sometimes because I dont think she is getting enough food.

My 10mth old is a little food monster!! Levi eats whatever my partner Adam and I eat. He also goes to a beautiful greek lady 3 days a week for childcare while I work and "Aunty Stef ' gives Levi greek food all the time. I can't eat anything in front of him anymore without him trying to grab it out of my hand for himself. So my advice would be to start trying him on some of the foods you eat.

I made the mistake of not doing that with my first born Douglas and now his the most fussiest eater and dinner time is very frustrating!! Good luck........

Hi Lindy,

Did you try giving him mashed potatoes? Or even rice, or grits? Everything that the other mothers said you should try to. Just don't give them anything spicy...make sure the drink plenty of water and ur son could have Gerber Juice...

My son is 10 months old, and he eats pretty much what your son eats, Lindy. A bottle of formula every 3 to 4 hours, stage 2 veggies and fruit mid day and then cereal at night before his final bottle. He doesn't eat what we eat, but he samples the tastes of everything. He only has 2 teeth and hasn't quite figured out how to mash food yet, so we're not giving him "people" food yet. Every baby is different.

I buy the stage 3 baby food because he has 4 teeth so far and the lower stages are too watery. However, his grandmothers and aunties give him table food. Things like mashed potatoes are ok but not so much of the seasoned foods cuz you want the palette to stay bland as possible.

I have a 10 month old and a 6 year old...and they eat almost the same thing. My youngest always wants what the oldest has and doesnt like his baby food anymore.

If your little one loves finger food....chop anything up and give it to him. Try something soft first to get the chewing going... like bananas, little peices of bread or cheese...and than work bigger and harder foods... like cereal, chicken or apples.

Basically anything you eat...he can eat! Make your dinner into bit size peices for him next time! :) Hope that helps!

My son went from eating 2nd step foods to ANYTHING over night, not by my choice I must say! He eats everything our family eats but I do try to reduce the level of salts and sugar intake usually i give him the NO JUNK PROMISE foods. He has two formula milk bottles a day one at breakfast the other just before bedtime in between he will drink juice or water. If you feel your baby is ready to move on try him with soft veggies or pastas etc. All i advise is that make sure you introduce the savoury foods before the sweet ones!

My Little girl is having 4 bottles a day getting ready to drop down to 3 every 4 hours she is eating Soft Fruits Pasta Meals Rice Meals Lots of Veges slowly starting to introduce meats loves sandwiches plain biscuits and yoghurt for her snack time and she is drinking lots of water throughout the day

My son was 10 months on the 14th and he is eating everything that i feed him.....he only has 3 formula bottles a day (one when he wakes up, one before nap, and one bofore bed), and then he has 3 meals a day and usually at least one if not two snacks a day, and with his meals he either has milk or juice/water (a 50/50 mixture)......so far i haven't found anything that i eat that he doesn't like....

Kaedyn eats table food now and is on reg milk in with his formula. But I also bought them table foods from Gerber...he likes the apples and green beans.

My 10 month old eats 3 solid meals a day, usually from the 3rd step foods (occasionally I still give him 2nd step foods) with cereal or finger foods in between meals. I also give him whatever I've made for dinner that night and he eats it with us. He is a very good eater and he is walking all over so I have to make sure he is getting enough to eat. Bottles don't fill him up anymore and are used as a comfort more than as a meal and he eats 2 -6 oz bottles during the day with 1-2 bottles at night (which I'm trying to do away with). Try slowly giving him tastes of the foods you are eating. My son was so interested in every thing I put in my mouth from an early age so we started him early on solids (around 5 months) and he has transitioned fine. He eats apples and pears and bananas that I slice and cucumber and Brussels sprouts that I cut up into bite sized pieces. Griffin really loves to feed himself so anything your son can pick up and feed to himself might be good. Good luck!

Three meals a day. Mostly chopped up cooked veggies, fruit, pasta and on occasionally meat. Also sometimes we do stage 3 foods depending on what we are having and where we are!. He drinks 4 oz of formula with meals, and sometimes wakes at night for a bottle. We do baby crackers or cheerios for snack if needed along with way watered down juice in a sippy cup.

My daughter is eating everything we eat as well. Weetbix, banana and bottle for breakfast. Steamed veggies and kiwi fruit for lunch. But then at dinner time we sit down and eat together, pretty much covering all the food groups. For some reason she loves olives, garlic and wholemeal bread. She only has 3 bottles of milk a day and 2 bottles of juice or water. For snacks we give her Ryvita wholemeal biscuits with peanut butter or vegemite on it or more fruit

My daughter is eating everything my husband and I eat as well. She is kind of shying away towards any sort of meat but we keep trying it. She does not eat baby food anymore. She has banana oatmeal for breakfast, then a bottle before a nap of about 4oz. For lunch she has usually whatever we have or a piece of bread with like apple butter and some peas, and then she has another bottle of about 4oz before another nap. Dinner consists of again whatever we eat, we've recently started trying the gerber quick meals for toddlers. She will eat about half of that. Then she has a bottle before bed. Does he have any teeth? if he's chewing you can try the gerber stage 3. Also our little one loves cut up bananas. They are nice and mushy and much more flavorful than the baby food. I would deff. try those first and see how he does. Peas would be another good one to try out since they are also small and mushy.

I am also a young mother and my son is almost 10months and he eats EVERYTHING! What we eat he eats. He also drinks water with all his meals (or maybe i should say OUR meals) and has milk bottles 3 times a day. When he wakes, before he naps and at bedtime!

EVERYTHING !!

Cooper eats what we eat , so if we have lamb cutlets and steam veg Cooper will too .

He loves spaghetti Bolognaise and ravioli .

He eats sandwiches at lunch , cut up fruit and vegetables .

For breakfast he eats baby porridge with mash banana , yeah basically whatever goes near his mouth , he even chases the dog around and tries to eat him !!
