my baby loves peek-a-boo and being read too... and now that she is starting to gain hand control she seems fasinated with rattles or anything that can be put in her hand. when i put small stuffed animals on her tummy she like to grab them and push them over her head... tummy time is really important

I do a lot of the things Maggie does, and I also play 'all around the garden' and use a mirror so he can see himself as well as me.

Arlene, I think that Maggie had some great suggestions! You can also put different textures in your baby's had. And don't forget about tummy time! Babies can gain great head control from a short time on their tummies. I checked-out some books from the library specifically about games for babies. The books listed a lot of Maggie's suggestions and a few others that were great for young infants. Hope you have some fun bonding with your son!

My daughter likes to play "If You're Happy And You Know It", "This Little Piggy" and "Patty Cake". She loves it when I sing to her (don't know why 'cause I can't carry a tune) and when I just talk to her about what we are doing. I got a sing-along-song cd from Fisher-Price and she loves it. I also walk around the house pointing at things and naming them for her. And I also show her what her toys do. Becky also likes to see hand and finger puppets. You could tie bells (loosely) on his wrists or ankles so that when her moves he will hear the bells. Also, hold things slightly out of his reach so that he can learn to reach for and hold onto items. Becky also likes it when I give her a raspberry or do a motor boat sound. Basically, if you feel like a fool doing it they will love it. You will even end up doing it in the grocery store whether there are other people around or not. I know that I do now.
